Curated Content Collections, Hive Engine Wallet Updates and More

in About PeakD7 months ago (edited)

A new release of is now available. Keep reading to discover the new features and check the full list of improvements ;)

The new release is now live at

1. Introduce Curated Content Collections (CCC)

Curated Content Collections (CCC shorthand) is by far the biggest feature introduced in this release. This is something we have discussed for quite some time in the past months and finally we have found a way to implement and support this feature in a way we hope you will enjoy.

With CCC you can now share a curated list of posts in a nice and simple way. And you can also add a small comment to each link you add to the collection.
If you are used to write posts on it will be easy to create a new collection. Because collections are fully decentralized and backed by a normal post that you can share in your blog or in a community (we created a community in case you don't know where to post it) and showcase in your profile. To create a collection there is an option directly in the top bar or in the post 'advanced' settings.

If you want to have a look we have created a few collections beforehand:

But collections are just simple posts so you can also view with the standard layout, but with some new embedded content 😉

CCC when opened as a post

Of course those collections can be seen in the user profile on a dedicated page:

And there is a new badge automatically assigned to users (curators) that publish a new collection.

'Curator' Badge

2. Hive Engine wallet improvements

The second large update in this release is a complete rework of the Hive Engine wallet section to provide more options and more details.

HE wallet

New supported operations:

  • Stake
  • Unstake
  • Delegate
  • Undelegate
  • View your delegations and update them.

Also we integrated a few different API to provide a clear and complete overview of the value of those tokens on HE market, Diesel Pools and (if available) standard price provided by @coingecko.

3. Accumulated HBD interest in Wallet and option to trigger a 'claim'

The Hive wallet now include an estimation of the HBD interests from the last payment. It's possible to trigger a payment with a small HBD transaction to yourself.

4. A Bunch of other improvements worth a mention

A full list of minor updates and fixes is available in the next paragraph, but some of them are worth a small paragraph and explanation.

Temporary save draft for comments/replies in the browser storage

When you start writing a comment or reply the text is now temporary saved in your browser cache. This does not work as the drafts for your posts, but should be a convenient way to avoid losing an import or long message by mistake.

Support 'Truvvl' embeds

Truvvl is a new app by the @travelfeed team released a few days ago. Embedded content is now supported on

Support ( embeds

Support for embeds is now available and old frames are automatically rewritten. Keep in mind that this only works when embedding the iframe directly, and not with a simple link.

5. Some minor improvements and bug fixes

As always some minor improvements, updates and fixes across the website. You can check the full release notes here:

Support the @peakd project

Now is probably a nice time to remind you of the ways you can support the development of @peakd.

We have a proposal on the Decentralized Hive Fund. You can review the proposal here.
If you agree to the proposal and you think the points mentioned add value to the Hive Blockchain consider supporting it using the above links or directly with this link.

We also run a witness server to help produce the blocks for the Hive Blockchain. You can vote for our witness so we are in a position to process more of them.

Vote on the witness page:

  • Using Keychain: You just have to click and approve the transaction
  • Using HiveSigner: You'll need access to confirm the transaction with your Active Key at least

A curated collection of Hive tutorials would be really useful. We need somewhere to send newbies.

Very good idea. Maybe you can create one and share here?

I'll see if I get time. I expect someone already has a list of links.

We would love to see this and would give this a very large tip.

@peakd! I sent you a slice of $PIZZA on behalf of @steevc.

how should we format ccc posts? Do we just insert the links and add comments above/below them?

Add links and write comments below them. Also you can have an introduction at the beginning.

And once you create the collection you can add post to it easily:

great, thanks!

These are some really stellar additions to the site! I love the idea of curated collections, and just like the badge system Peakd pioneered, I really appreciate the fact you're adhering to the decentralized nature of Hive and making all these cool features open, accessible, and useable by other platforms.

You're walled garden is actually a flourishing public park, and I love it 🌻

Awesome work on the continued support, keep it up Peakd team!

Yep... glad you see the vision too.

When you start writing a comment or reply the text is now temporary saved in your browser cache. This does not work as the drafts for your posts, but should be a convenient way to avoid losing an import or long message by mistake.

Nice! I can now expect to have hair for another few years! Was pulling out way too much at an alarming rate due to losing text previously 😛.

Also, those sample images for the CCC makes me look forward to the next Utah roadtrip planned (hopefully) later this year 😎.

I just noticed that save comment function as well, it's great!!

YAY! I am excited to take the bookmark and make some collections! Thanks!!!

This is fantastic. The Odysee embed feature is dope and @steevc 's suggestion to create a collection of Hive tutorials is exactly what peeps like me who have joined the network recently need. Thank you!

Thanks for adding truvvl support so fast! Great work!

This is very interesting! Undoubtedly the collections will be useful to compile good posts. Thanks for your work ❤️.

WOW. Seriously amazing work here, damn. I remember saying about the HBD interest am impressed you’ve done it so quickly. Mental. big big love !

You guys are doing an awesome job; by far the best entry point to Hive! Love the CCC feature!

One thing — that's NOT part of this update, but in general: On the "dashboard" page, where all the stats and graphs spool up, there's a "load more data" option which is great... but there's no "less" option to return to the 30-day default. It would be nice to have a reset of sorts there because you can easily end up with an unusable visual of you're not careful.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see if we can add this in one of the next updates ;)

Wow massive updates guys!

When I grow up...I wanna be Peakd!

Crushing it guys, thanks so much for all you are building and do for the blockchain!

Awesome update!

Loving the interest transparency and claim option, can't wait to see how it expands with the upcoming forks.

How does one stake or unstake HE tokens via the HE wallet? I couldn't see the function, that estimate tool is also cool for picking up arb opportunities!

Lol nevermind I saw the drop down whoopsies

How does one stake or unstake HE tokens via the HE wallet?

This must be supported by the token:

It's nice to have more options when it comes to managing HE tokens.

we hope it's the smoothest and most intuitive of the options

Wow, simply amazing! Without peakd, it would by far not that much fun to write on the Hive blockchain.

This is sweet! 99% of my posts are in a series format. I can't wait to group them all together into collections.

Do the Collections support cover images? Specifically, can we include an image when creating the collection post? Or will that throw off how the collection is rendered by peakd?

Awesome work with this! And the wallet updates and other fixes/improvements look great! The H-E wallet is so much more functional now!

Specifically, can we include an image when creating the collection post?

Yes, you can add your own cover image ;)

Thank you so much for adding the browser cache for the reply/comment editor!

The best interface on the Hive ecosystem! Such and outstanding work guys!

Wow! Peakd will be more attractive then! I will inform Indonesian community about PeakD and if you dont mint, I will translate this post for them.

My collections keep showing up as regular posts with a bunch of links in them :(

I'm going to my collections, and adding a new one.

It gives me the same interface as creating a new post. I make the post, but I end up with a blog post full of links.

What am I doing wrong?

I think I figured it out. Trying to create a collection from the button that I screenshotted above, it takes me to this interface:

write a post.png

If I right click on a post and add it to a new collection, it brings me to this interface:

create collection.png

I think the "Create a new collection post" button needs to be updated, or I might have an old version of that button because I turned it on in beta?

Oh, you are right. Thanks for pointing this out

take a bow... that is wicked cool

You are working on an old version of the post... it was updated about 20 minutes ago with new links etc

yes i did open it in a new tab and then left it to read it later :D

Loving the new updates already, Keep up the good team PeakD ❤

These are great updates. We just got back to blogging in the last couple of weeks and had to make the jump to Hive.

We're curious if there are any tutorials on embedding Odysee videos via iframe.

Thanks. Looks simple enough!

I love the curated collections idea! A question, though.. Is it possible to edit the collection to add or remove posts?

Sure, collections are just post, so you can edit them as you usually edit posts ;)

Hello @peakd!
First of all that are some really useful improvements...
But I'd have a question:
Is it possible to show all the token rewards when you are looking at your post here on peakd?
You write a post using the tag #creativecoin
So in addition to the Hive rewards you may receive some creativecoin as well...
Is it possible to make that you can see this at the rewards?

Thank you again for improving the Hive experience and have a great weekend...

We show all the hive tokens. I'm guessing you're requesting to show tokens on the separately owned platform known as hive-engine?

We are considering it... however we want people to have a good perspective of these tokens and that's why we recently did some improvements to our wallet for hive-engine so people have a better understanding of their worth.

Yes this is what i meant...And thanks for your feedback...

This is very cool!
I've been on @nftshowroom for a few months but not involved in the larger #HIVE ecosystem.
I’m new to PeakD (and, Ecency, LeoFinance, etc...) and it's been quite a learning experience figuring out they are all just different interfaces to the same content store... I'm really hoping the new Collections feature leads to lots of "How To Use PeakD" collections! 😃

In future updates of the CCC, it would be super cool if we could pin a particular CCC to the Collections page on our profile separate from pinning it to our blog page. Just something I've noticed while building collections and thinking about crowding out my favorite ones with the recurring curation posts I'll be putting there.
